About Us

Weldwire Company of Texas, Inc. is a family owned business which has been in existence since 1966. Joel Pelham, its owner and founder has been in the welding industry for over 50 years. His belief that a persons word and product that works, are essential in maintaining a successful business relationship.

The company originally specialized in selling, stainless steel wires, carbon welding rods and welding machines. Throughout the years the company rebuilt and rented refurbished weld positioning equipment and then ultimately began the manufacturing of new equipment. With over 50 years of rebuilding weld positioning equipment, the company used this experience to develop and manufacture its own line of equipment. Due to the overwhelming demand for its equipment, Weldwire has 3 manufacturing companies; one located in the southern United States, one located in Singapore and one located in Taiwan. The United States plant is located in The Woodlands, TX, just north of Houston. This facility is a 15,000 square foot factory with 15 ton overhead crane service. The second stage of the company’s expansion will be a showroom due to open in late 2008. This facility will be a 4,500 square foot air conditioned area showcasing our equipment. The third proposed state will be a large product inventory facility to better improve the availability of our equipment.

The United States factory manufactures tank turning rolls, floor turntables, head and tailstock and other related equipment. It also acts as a warranty repair and replacement parts facility. Our Singapore and Taiwan factories manufacture welding positioners, welding manipulators, other custom designed systems and related products. Weldwire’s products that are manufactured overseas are designed to our equipment specifications which involve a very strict manufacturing process. This process insures that all equipment meets the high expectations of our owner and more importantly, our customers.
