New Weldwire 10 to 200 ton rolls are equipped with the following:

• All steel, welded and precision machined gearboxes which are preloaded from the inside of the box housing, eliminating the need for outside locking devices, which are a common problem of blown end caps and cracked housings;
• Steel fabricated pillow blocks with tapered roller bearings, not cast;
• 4140 heat-treated axles;
• 4140 heat-treated worm gears;
• Aluminum bronze gears;
• Special formulated rubber wheels with high load compound;
• Precision machined overload discs which protect against fraying and peeling of rubber due to overloading and misaligning;
• Tie rods used to hold the overload disc firmly against the steel tire rim. This forms an effective axle as large in diameter as the steel rim.
